Square Enix ha confirmado oficialmente que Kingdom Hearts 4 llegará en 2027. La noticia se produjo durante el evento D23 de Disney. Para el lanzamiento de Kingdom Hearts 4 no hay fecha exacta, pero sí una ventana concreta tras cuatro años de anuncio sin noticias. El anuncio incluyó un nuevo tráiler de Kingdom Hearts que muestra por primera vez un mundo basado en Coco, la película de Pixar sobre el día de los muertos. En las imágenes del tráiler, Sora se enfrenta a enemigos entre la multitud de un concierto.
