Square Enix y Disney han confirmado durante el D23 que Kingdom Hearts IV se lanzará a finales de 2027. El protagonista Sora regresa en una aventura por la misteriosa ciudad de Quadratum. Los Sincorazón vuelven a sembrar el caos en este nuevo mundo. El anuncio ha llegado acompañado de un tráiler que muestra un nuevo mundo inspirado en Coco, de Disney y Pixar. El anuncio se produjo durante el Disney Entertainment Showcase. Este evento incluyó un panel llamado Deep Dive into Kingdom Hearts que celebró los 25 años de la franquicia.
