Nintendo ha lanzado una actualización gratuita para Mario Kart 8 Deluxe en Switch 2, que eleva la resolución, reduce los tiempos de carga y añade funciones que no estaban disponibles en la versión original; los Gráficos mejorados de Mario Kart 8 en Switch 2 se notan tanto en la pantalla de 1.080p de la consola como al conectarla a un televisor 4K, mientras el juego incorpora multijugador local para ocho personas y compatibilidad con cámara.
